As a LinQhost customer, it has recently become possible for you to manage your own spam filter. You can register domains on the spam filter yourself, remove emails from quarantine and of course set up your own whitelist/blacklist.
Register domain on spam filter
To register a new domain on the spam filter, you must log in with the login details you received from us. You can recognize this login name by the “
SE “-prefix, for example “SE10”. You can log in via the website
http://www.spamlogin.com:
Once you are logged in, go to “ Add domain ” where you can enter the desired domain:
Click “ Continue ” and set the “ Destination route ”. This is the hostname or IP address of the mail server where the email should eventually arrive:
Then click on “ Add ” to save the settings. The domain is now registered with the spam filter. In the next step we will activate the use of the spam filter.
Adjust DNS
To activate the spam filter for your domain, you need to adjust the domain's " MX records ". For this you need to use the following MX records:
Name | Type | Priority | Contents |
---|
(empty) or @ | MX | 10 | mailgw1.linqhost.net |
(empty) or @ | MX | 20 | mailgw2.linqhost.net |
Your domain will get two separate MX records as indicated above. As soon as the DNS adjustment is active your email will be filtered by the spam filter.
