What does LinQhost's Managed Backup SLA entail?

Managed Back-up SLA: Your data always safe and available

At LinQhost we provide a managed backup SLA on all your services. This means that we make multiple backups of your servers, settings, data and databases every day. Thanks to our backup & recovery guarantee principle, you are assured of a safe and reliable backup of all your hosting services.

Each server has its own SLA, whereby the storage space is billed monthly based on your actual usage. Because changes occur on your website or web application, the amount of stored data can vary per month. The amount of data in use on the last day of the month is the value for charging this storage space.

Frequently asked questions about our backup services:

  1. What data is stored in my backup?

The storage space can vary daily due to operations, uploads and deletions. We have no influence on this, and therefore we cannot provide exact information about the content of the backup.
  1. Why don't I see my cleared 100 GB on my invoice yet?

We work with retention periods for storing backups. By default, a backup is made daily with a retention of 5 days. This means that data, even if deleted, remains visible for a few days until the retention period has expired.
  1. My website is only 25GB, but the statistics show higher usage. Why?

We make a full backup of all data on your server, including system files. We do this to ensure that we can restore not only your data, but also your entire service. Due to retention periods and multiple restore points, the amount of data stored may vary. Actual usage is determined by our backup software.
  1. Can I adjust the retention periods and archives you use?

By default, we make one full backup per day (four times incremental), with a retention period of 5 days. After this, the most recent backup replaces the oldest. Do you want more flexibility or longer retention periods? Then contact us for the possibilities.
  1. How can I save on backup space?

Regularly monitor your storage and remove unnecessary files, such as old database dumps or unused media files. This can save you a lot of storage space and costs.
  1. Can I manage backups myself?

We manage the backups for you. Do you need a backup or do you want to restore a backup? Contact us ( servicedesk AT linqhost.nl ) and we will arrange this for free within your SLA (one free backup per month). Of course, we also recommend that you always keep your own backup (offline).
